Digital DUMBO Halloween Bash
ADOTAS – On Thursday, I strolled on down the hill to Galapagos Art Space, a hip hangout for art events, parties and even weddings, to attend Digital DUMBO’s Halloween costume party. People were crowded around the bar and a few costumes stuck out of the fun, not overly hip crowd. The atmosphere was cool and laid-back and people were networking all over.
My favorite costume of the evening had to have been the joint effort of the Carrot Creative team. Many of the men wore bloody t-shirts with names of publications that had been “killed” by digital, while two women in “digital” t’s ran around with bloody knives. This truly set the tone for the evening: fun, smart, unpretentious and absolutely a party. I have been to many events, and this was one of few where it was very easy to network and genuinely have a good time. I highly recommend it.
Kaitlin Villanova, Director of Account Services for Carrot Creative, started the event earlier this year. This was the tenth time the monthly event took place. She said the party was part of an effort to make DUMBO a hub for digital networking. The effort may be working. The company, venue and neighborhood seem to be a hit with the 25-40 set. Plus, the vibrancy of the revitalized art scene in DUMBO gives it a bright future in digital social networking.

Hi Sarah,
Thank you for attending and for the write-up! Glad to have you there. Kristin Maverick and myself actually started the event back in January. However, Kaitlin is now an integral part of the Digital DUMBO team! Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks!
