News Corp.’s IGN Entertainment gaming unit has acquired What They Play, a two-year-old site designed for parents and families looking for information about interactive entertainment. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lotame, a data-driven marketing platform that combines social media interaction with tracking data, has opened a Los Angeles office and hired Jody Salamirad to be Director of West Coast Sales. She comes to Lotame from Glam Media (LA) where she had been National Entertainment Director since 2007 and Southwest Style Director since January 2009 overseeing the L.A. Region. Earlier, Ms Salamirad was Director West Coast Sales for IZEA (formerly PayPerPost) (LA) and before that, was Sr. Territory Manager for Myspace.com (LA). She also served as Vice President West Coast Sales for Interevco and Sr. Director of Sales for United Online (formerly Classmates.com) (SF/LA).

Traffic Marketplace has launched of TMPSocial, a new division created to help advertisers reach consumers via social media and to assist application developers in generating revenue from their games and applications. TMPSocial offers a suite of advertiser and publisher products, including a display banner network, custom widget and application development, app link exchange and alternative payment solutions for social applications.
