Google to debut ad exchange shortly?

googlesucks_small.jpgADOTAS — The much discussed launch of the giant’s upgraded display ad marketplace could be by next week.

According to ClickZ, Google, which has tested it in private beta, is about to open it to all buyers and sellers. The launch is expected by the end of the month, and could be timed to coincide with Advertising Week in New York, to be held the week of September 21.

Google-owned DoubleClick was expected to launch an upgraded version of its ad exchange platform by the end of August and take on Yahoo’s Right Meda. ClickZ says that a main feature of Google’s ad exchange will be its ability to accept ad serving products other than DoubleClick’s Dart for Advertisers, which has been a stumbling block for clients.

DoubleClick, the online ad company which was bought by Google for $3.1 billion, is an ad exchange which connects media buyers with site owners in order to trade inventory.
