TapMatch, a Jumptap product, has been named the winner in the annual SEW Awards’ “Best Search Engine Ad Platform” category at the Search Engines Strategies Conference in San Jose. It is a self service pay-per-click performance mobile ad marketplace. Brand and performance marketers bid on keywords and categories to run ads that appear on mobile web pages, above search results and in applications including iPhone, Android and BlackBerry.

Paltalk, a real-time, video-based chat community with over four million active members, has partnered with Metro Residential, a real estate and design television series which airs weekly on WPIX to provide video chat services for the show. Metro Residential airs every Sunday from 9 – 9:30 AM EST on WPIX, the flagship station of the CW Television Network and the Paltalk powered video chat takes place on WPIX’s website immediately following the broadcast. During the video chat, participants are able to see and hear the Metro Residential hosts, Cathy Hobbs and Jeff Appel, as well as text and voice chat with one another about the show’s topic.

Gannett Digital Media Network, has partnered with Footnote.com, a history website for original content, to launch HistoryBeat.com, a website that combines social networking with archival photos and original newspaper coverage of historical events. The first sites under the HistoryBeat domain, moonlanding.historybeat.com and woodstock.historybeat.com.

Online environmental news and events company Greentech Media has raised about $800,000 of a $1.25 million round. The startup had already raised $3.75 million in two previous rounds, most recently in May 2008, when the company said it would use the new cash for additional hires and to expand its domestic and global presence.
