Gather.com’s SMAC (Social Media Advertising Council) is a group of advertising, communications, brand management and social media executives coming together to create a common vocabulary, standard buying units, and uniform measurement methods for social media.
SMAC’s aim is to create a set of standards for social-media advertising, sometimes called “engagement advertising,” that mirrors the standards set for print, television, and display ads. http://www.smac.org/… 6:00-6:30 – Pre-Networking 6:30-7:30 – “SMAC -Social Media Advertising Panel” – Moderated by Gather.com CEO, Tom Gerace 7:30-8:00 – Audience Discussion / Q&A 8:00-8:30 – Post Networking In this session of brandhacker’s, Tom Gerace, SMAC Chairman and Gather CEO, announces the council’s newly released and agreed-upon SMAC buying units and engagement standards.
Following Tom’s keynote, a moderated panel consisting of 4-5 members of SMAC’s founding group will debate the agreed-upon standards and will open the conversation to brandhacker attendees.
