Hiring and promotions roundup
ADOTAS — Brand.net, IMAGES USA, AFAR, MediaVest USA, Martopia, Bresnan Communications, Giant Realm and Titan Worldwide announced hirings and promotions this past week.
Brand.net:
Scott Thompson joins Brand.net from WebMD to run the Central region, and Laura Lasiter joins Brand.net from AOL to open the Atlanta office and lead the Southeast region. As Director of Midwest Consumer Sales for WebMD, Thompson opened and built its Chicago office, and worked extensively with top CPGs, including Kellogg, General Mills and Kimberly Clark. In her seven years at AOL, Lasiter ran the Southeast region and led the growth of key accounts, including Coca-Cola, Verizon Wireless, and Home Depot.
Giant Realm:
Tom Koletas has joined the rapidly-growing online media company as vice president, Sales. Koletas, who is based in Giant Realm’s New York office, joins the company from Imaginova, where he served as vice president and managing director of Advertising Sales since February 2007. Prior to Imaginova, Koletas was vice president of Advertising for Industry Brains, a pioneer in the search and contextual advertising market. Earlier in his career, Koletas held senior sales positions at TheStreet.com and Ziff Davis.
Bresnan Communications:
Steve Brookstein has added the title of Chief Operating Officer. He joined Bresnan in 2003 as Executive Vice President of Operations. During the last six years, as EVP of Operations, he has had primary responsibility for the operations of the Company’s cable television systems and oversaw the rollout of the Company’s advanced services, achieving operating results that are among the very best in the industry. Prior to joining Bresnan, he held a senior executive management post with DIVA, a Video On Demand solutions provider, and worked as General Manager of @Home’s residential business unit. Previously, he spent nine years with Comcast Cable, in the role of Senior Vice President of Marketing, and later Regional Senior Vice President for Comcast’s East/West Region. he first joined the cable industry in the early 1980s at Home Box Office in New York, where he managed the team that developed and launched HBO’s sister service, Cinemax.
Martopia:
Katie Umbaugh was named as Account Executive. Umbaugh brings years of domestic and international experience as an account executive and project manager to Martopia. Prior to joining the Martopia team, Umbaugh worked for several years at an agency specializing in digital/interactive marketing. Before that, she worked overseas as part of team in Nairobi, Kenya managing marketing and communications programming for all of Kenya as part of an effort to build cross-cultural relations with the United States.
MediaVest USA:
Kerry Henderson was promoted to senior vice president at the agency. Henderson operates out of Chicago and reports to SVP, North American AOR Director Joe Warren. In her role as connections director, Henderson oversees strategy for more than 40 brands across Kraft; manages the Chicago-based MediaVest team; and consults on the Starcom MediaVest Group Canadian Kraft business. Before assuming her leadership role at MediaVest, Henderson worked for Starcom as a director on the Miller account. She has also worked out of L.A. on the agency’s Walt Disney Studios, E!, Style and G! TV accounts.
AFAR:
Joining AFAR’s experienced ad sales team are Chris Cuomo as Miami-based Sales Manager of the Southeast, Caribbean, and Central America, and Cha Mueller as Los Angeles-based West Coast Sales Director.
Cuomo is the founder of C2-Media, an independently owned media sales company based in Miami, Florida. Prior to launching C2-Media, Cuomo spent time at National Geographic Society, Time, Inc., Thomson Financial Publishing and Gannett Company, Inc.
Mueller is the founder of Chalamode LLC, a boutique media sales company where she currently represents Dwell. Prior to that, Mueller served as Southern California Sales Director for Conde Nast’s Gourmet where she earned the distinction of Gourmet’s “Break-Out Star.” Mueller also brings experience from Viacom having launched their west coast cross platform division and The Sporting News, where she managed online and offline business for clients such as DeBeers Diamonds, Absolute Vodka, Gillette, and more. Before her media sales career, Mueller spent 12 years working at some of the country’s top agencies including Chiat/Day/Mojo, Young & Rubicam, and Wells, Rich, Greene.
IMAGES USA:
Natalia Buitrago was promoted to Senior Graphic Designer in the Creative Department. Jelanii Reed and Ahmad Abdul-Ali were promoted to Account Supervisors on the Brand Group team. Maria Alejandra Belloso, also in the Brand Group team, is now Account Executive for Amtrak.
Marianne Anderson now serves as Project Management Director for the IMAGES Market Research Department. Rachelle Jackson is now Senior Research Analyst.
Titan Worldwide:
Mike Collins was hired to be Vice President, General Manager for its Dallas region. Collins joins with an impressive background in the sector. He began his Out- of-Home career as an Account Executive for TDI in 1987. In 1990 he was promoted to TDI’s Northern California market and was again promoted to Dallas Market Manager in 1998. After TDI became CBS Outdoor, Mr. Collins moved back to Dallas as a Regional Vice President in 2001. In 2004, Mr. Collins founded Outdoor Media Advisors and the College Billboard Network, where he has spent the last five years and from which he joins Titan.
