Hiring and promotions roundup
ADOTAS — Buddy Media, Pointroll, [X+1] and mindshare announced some hirings and promotions this week.
Buddy Media:
Andrew Goldberg and Chris Dessi join the company as Directors of Sales for the East and Mark Sarsha as Director of Sales, West Coast.
Goldberg has more than 15 years of experience in media sales and joins Buddy Media from XM Satellite Radio, where he was Director of Advertising Sales and was responsible for building XM’s Northeast ad sales team.
Dessi brings more than a dozen years of experience to Buddy Media, having previously held the positions of Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Miva and Zanox, Inc., a Berlin, Germany based multinational ad network. Dessi has also served as Director of National Ad Sales for Epic Advertising (formerly AzoogleAds, Inc).
Sarsha joins Buddy Media from OK! Magazine, where he served as Western Sales Director and built a team that grew sales volume by more than $3 million during his tenure. Prior to OK!, Mark was the Western Advertising Sales Director at USA WEEKEND magazine and usaweekend.com.
PointRoll:
Ray McIntosh was newly named Sales Director, West Coast and Chris Baughman, AVP Creative Strategy at the Los Angeles office. Dana Summers has been appointed to the position of Account Executive, Pacific Northwest, and Rhiannon Ubelhor has been hired as an Account Executive, Auto, for the Los Angeles post.
McIntosh brings over fifteen years of ad sales experience to the position. McIntosh was most recently the Director of the Western Region for Source Interlink, a leading integrated media, publishing, merchandising and distribution company where he oversaw Western US operations. Prior to that, he directed sales at Reactrix Systems and Centro, LLC. This is his second stint with PointRoll, having worked as a Regional Advertising Manager from 2004-2006.
Baughman returns to PointRoll after serving as Associate Creative Director with Crew Creative Advertising, where he oversaw their display business and led a team in the development and execution of rich media campaigns from conception to design and build-out. Prior to being hired as AVP Creative Strategy, he was at PointRoll as an art director, working with clients to help brands and creative agencies understand the possibilities of rich media.
Summers comes to PointRoll with strong knowledge of the online advertising space, after building and managing client relationships for several Fortune 500 companies at AdBrite. She will continue to own key client and agency relationships at PointRoll as Account Executive for the Pacific Northwest with a focus on technology sales. Summers is based in the San Francisco office.
Prior to joining PointRoll, Ubelhor shifted from a background in media marketing to selling with Conde Nast’s Brides.com where she worked as an Account Manager with top clients such as Bloomingdales, Scott Kay and Watters & Watters as well as growing their southern territory. Ubelhor started her career in online advertising at Deutsch LA on the Mitsubishi account as well as Coors Brewing Co and TGI Fridays. She has also held media planning and account positions at Universal McCann, phd Media, TeamOne Advertising, and Carat Fusion.
Mindshare:
Scott Sorokin was named head of digital, global at Mindshare. Most recently, Sorokin was president of Carat and Carat Fusion, Aegis Media’s digital services agency.

Dedric Choi was named vice president of partnerships and strategy. Choi was most recently a vice president in the Strategy and Analysis group at Digitas.
