ADOTAS — That didn’t take long.
Pandora has announced the hiring of John Trimble to the newly created position of chief revenue officer. Trimble served as EVP of ad sales for Glam Media where he focused on developing new market segments and the company’s entrance into the men’s market with the launch of the Brash network.
“I’m delighted to be able to take my interactive media experience and apply it to the incredible multiple media opportunities that Pandora offers the biggest national brands,” Trimble said in a statement. “Like many, I’m a huge Pandora fan. Being a part of the effort to identify new growth areas in order to continue Pandora’s strong momentum in ad revenue is extraordinarily exciting.”
Trimble’s first foray into digital media space was in 1999 when he joined startup Phase2 Media as VP, sales. There he was responsible for selling the International Olympic Committee’s first commercial website globally around the Sydney 2000 games, as well as developing the men’s vertical ad categories, tapping popular titles like Maxim.com and the Hachette Filipacchi properties.
Prior to his promotion to SVP at Fox, Trimble was VP, ad sales, for FOX Sports Interactive Media. There he developed the ad sales strategy and positioned the media property as a premier platform for brand engagement by integrating online and broadcast campaigns. Before joining Fox Interactive, Trimble was director of national sales for SportsIllustrated.com where he was charged with developing and implementing their interactive ad sales strategy.
The Internet radio service has a free subscription supported by advertisements and a fee-based subscription without ads. I love the service so I hope it doesn’t run into the same problems as SpiralFrog.
