ADOTAS — ExactTarget, which provides on-demand email and one-to-one marketing solutions, has partnered with a ShareThis, a sharing network, to begin the development of a new integrated product offering for one-to-one marketers.
The joint product, available in the coming weeks, will bring together providers focused on one-to-one communications and the sharing of content across social and personal networks.
“Marketers can’t deny the growing power and influence of social media, which is why ExactTarget is excited to partner with ShareThis to unlock a new range of opportunities that has yet to be seen within the industry,” said Tim Kopp, chief marketing officer, ExactTarget. “One-to-one communications already play an important role in social media, with inboxes and mobile devices alerting participants when someone has sent them a Facebook friend request or direct message via Twitter. With ShareThis and ExactTarget joining forces, marketers will now be able to put their subscribers in the position to carry their message on to the trusted network of individuals with whom they interact.”
ShareThis, a widget that lets individuals share content to all of their profiles, blogs, friends and contacts, is compatible with a wide variety of social networks and email options, including Facebook, Twitter, Digg, MySpace and many others.

In 2008, ExactTarget launched the Extensions Network with partners such as Omniture, salesforce.com and Bazaarvoice to provide one-to-one communications solutions to marketers.
