SpongeBob, Dora the Explorer Saved by Viacom/Time Warner
ADOTAS — Viacom and Time Warner struck a tentative deal that keeps Sponge Bob Square Pants,Dora the Explorer and other shows on the air for more than 13 million cable subscribers.
Viacom wanted an increase of about 23 cents per subscriber or it threatened it would pull its networks from TW systems.
Yesterday, I questioned if people would actually change their service because of a possible Viacom ban.
One comment: “You’d be surprised. My house is in an uproar as the kids are freaking out about their IV source being canned, and the teens are getting angry about no more VH1/MTV. I personally am pissed about Comedy Central- no more Colbert on TV after a long day’s work? Unthinkable.
We’re all in agreement- TWC has enough problems & crap channels that I don’t mind switching to satellite or any other cable provider that offers them. Lucky you having a childless home- here I have Nickelodeon blaring every other hour with a scrolling “ALERT!ALERT!ALERT!” at the bottom of the screen. Nothing like impending doom messages to rile my kids up…”
