Microsoft buys Yahoo talent
ADOTAS — By the time Yahoo has a CEO, it might be too late.
Microsoft continues to pick up top Yahoo talent. Former tech star Qi Lu, according Kara Swisher, will soon become Microsoft’s top digital executive. Microsoft previously hired Yahoo search executive Sean Suchter, and apparently is fighting with Google over another Yahoo executive. Lu’s hiring would also help Microsoft recruit even more talent from the beleagured search company.
All this while the Yahoo board looks high and low for a replacemet for the disaster that was Jerry Yang. Roy Bostock wants a new leader by the new year. He and others want a candidate that has public company CEO experience, media and advertising expertise, mergers and acquisitions experience as well as strategic skills. Long order for a short time period.
But that’s not all. Apparently the company is discussing an AOL merger. Egads. No wonder everyone is jumping ship.
