IAC Shopping for Vertical Sites

shoppingcart.jpgADOTAS – IAC CEO Barry Diller seems to be ripping a page out of Warren Buffet’s playbook, but instead of snapping up discount stocks, Diller has trained his beady eyes on bargain-basement priced Web sites.

Diller told Reuters that while he’s not interested in further exploiting the search arena (IAC owns Ask.com), his company is aiming to acquire various vertical audiences (a la the company’s Dictionary.com and Thesauraus.com buys). He’s also nixed social media sites, saying the advertising revenue model is a no-go.
