Microsoft, Verizon To Team Up on Mobile Search Deal

microsoft_small.jpgADOTAS – Microsoft Corp. is tying up loose ends on a search deal with Verizon Wireless, according to reports. Microsoft is slated to become Verizon’s default search provider, offering the software titan a serious leg up in the increasingly competitive mobile space.

Ad revenue would most likely be shared, with guaranteed payments to Verizon of between $550 million and $650 million over the next five years. That accounts for about twice what Google offered.
