Gannett Buys Social Media Shop Ripple6

newspaper_small.jpgADOTAS – Newspaper publisher Gannett Co. is rounding out its digital arsenal with the acquisition of social media services company Ripple6. Gannett snapped up rich media ad shop PointRoll in 2005 and ShopLocal this year. Financial details of this deal were not revealed.

The company’s platform already powered Gannett’s MomsLikeMe.com sites. Ripple6 will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gannett, but it will continue to serve its clients. Ripple6’s customers include Meredith, General Mills and P&G.
