Web Associates Rebrands as LEVEL Studios
ADOTAS – Web Associates has changed its name to LEVEL Studios to more accurately reflect what the company actually does.
“Since our inception in 1995, we’ve been doing a lot of work in the Web space – but our range of services has broadened considerably,” Tom Adamski, CEO of LEVEL Studios told ADOTAS. “We now handle a range of services for our clients and we specialize in developing and growing the user experience across three platforms: application development, user experience and digital media. Our clients actually started asking us when we were going to change our name. Their response to our name change, unsurprisingly, has been very positive.”
“The name LEVEL Studios better reflects the wide range of services the company offers and its expertise, talent and insight,” said Gary Penn, director of interactive at Quiksilver. “LEVEL is not just a Web design company, but a mature agency with expanded capabilities including mobile and desktop. We’re delighted to be working with the team and wholeheartedly support the name change.”
The new moniker, LEVEL Studios, was developed to reflect the company’s two main brand attributes: innovation and balance, the company said. In regard to innovation, the connotation revolves around achieving the “next level” in digital design. Balance implies achieving a “common level” across desktop, Web and mobile environments by delivering an unparalleled user experience. The term also reaches across demographics as the company aims to help balance industrialized and developing nations from a socioeconomic perspective. Lastly, the company’s corporate culture encourages its employees to balance work and life.
While Adamski acknowledges that his priority has to be LEVEL’s fiscal health and profitability, he insists that an altruistic philosophy and a solid bottom line can go hand-in-hand.
“We feel really passionate about giving back,” Adamski said. “We have made it a priority – as have our clients – to try to make socially and economically conscious business decisions. When we delve into emerging markets we think about how the countries will support the technology, how people will access it and the overall implications on an infrastructural level. Agencies have a tremendous opportunity over the next five to 10 years to do a lot of good for a lot of people in a very short time. LEVEL wants to be a part of that.”
LEVEL’s clients include Apple, Cisco, ESPN Zone, HP, NAMCO BANDAI Games and Quiksilver.

Interesting thoughts on why they changed their name to Level Studios.
Not too dissimilar to why we have been called Level 9 since 1995……
