yahoo_dark_small.jpgADOTAS – Yahoo is getting ready for another round of layoffs. The Internet pioneer’s chief, Jerry Yang, issued an ominous memo on Sept. 23 in which he announced the hiring of Bain consultants to get the company “fit as an organization.” In other words: prepare for a bloodbath.

According to the Silicon Alley Insider, layoff rumors are swirling. Some say as many as 3,500 will go (well over 20% of its team), though many say that number is far too high.

The company totally deserves it. As an advertiser, what would you expect when they change their systems and it reduces their revenue.

I don’t know about anyone else, but before Panama - and their minimum bids for Activation, I was spending 3-4 times what I do today. You tell me why it makes sense to put a minimum on a keyword that no one is bidding on? It doesn’t. Do it a few million times a day, and you lose a ton of business for both of us.

Instead of getting rid of people, why doesn’t Yahoo start focusing on their clients and customers? Of course, then they would have to ditch that “we’re the keepers of the keyword” philosophy and arrogant style they’ve had since it was Overture. They really should stop smelling their own farts.

The ads on this page are obscenely obnoxious.
