facebook_small.jpgADOTAS – Facebook veterans Dustin Moskovitz and Justin Rosenstein are leaving Facebook to form their own venture, the details of which have not been disclosed. (Sketchy details have emerged though. Their new company will focus on an open-source software development kit that would be compatible with Facebook).

Facebook co-founder Moskovitz and engineer Rosenstein will stay on board at Facebook for another month. Several top Facebook executives have left in recent months, sparking speculation as to why, since the company appears to be on sound footing.

The company is the last major social site to remain independent, despite being offered billions.

Founded in 2004, Facebook currently boasts about 100 million users worldwide.
