hiring.jpgADOTAS – Ad tech company the Rubicon Project has brought two new executives on board. Mark Douglas as vice president of engineering and Seizo Welch as vice president of finance. Douglas is responsible for building and managing the Rubicon Project’s engineering, quality assurance and Web operations teams. Welch will oversee management of all finance and accounting functions in the company, including support of the company’s rapid expansion. Most recently, Douglas was vice president of technology at a “match-making company,” eHarmony.com. Welch was formerly vice president of finance at Experian Interactive Media, managing a team that focused on lead-generation companies, including LowerMyBills.com.

Heavy.com cut 14% of its staff, or roughly 12 people. This follows on the heels of June cuts of roughly 25 positions.

Funtank, a new branded entertainment publisher, has appointed Scott Tannen as president. Tannen will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company, including oversight of Candystand.com, a business he’s directed since 2000, which was recently acquired by Funtank in August 2008. Tannen’s interactive career has spanned three Fortune 500 Companies including Nabisco, Inc., Kraft Foods Global, Inc. and most recently, as Director of Global Interactive Marketing for the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company.
