Hakia Launches “Quality” Focused Interface
ADOTAS – Semantic search engine Hakia has launched a new interface that aims to take search “beyond 10 blue links” and deliver quality results – instead of the most popular ones, as most other search engines do. The new interface aims to clear out the clutter and deliver focused, credible search results, the company said.
The new design allocates visual space – tabs — for credibility-stamped results to be displayed alongside regular search results. As of now, Hakia has a directory of credible sites in categories including health, medical and the environment.
Other changes on Hakia’s front page:
- My Hakia: A front-page personalization interface allowing users to obtain search results from emerging news and dynamic content, and customized to the topics of their choice.
- Sign in (Hakia CLUB): Designed for those who are interested in hakia technology, partnership, and business. Hakia CLUB members get privileged access to upcoming releases.
- Hakia Galleries: For shorter, popular queries, Hakia generates a page of categorized results, known as Hakia Galleries. Galleries provide a balanced presentation for any given query, by generating results for various aspects of the search term, rather than just 10 blue links. For example, a search for “Madonna” will categorize results in areas such as images, blogs and fan sites, lyrics, myths and controversies and more. This presentation is equivalent to conducting 10 searches on other Web sites.
