you tubeADOTAS – Video-sharing site YouTube is going to start selling music and video games – and tweak its ad format – in an attempt to grow revenue, the company reports.

YouTube users will now be able to purchase digital treats from iTunes and Amazon (video viewers will be given the option of clicking on an icon to download the tune from one of the sites).

Google is under pressure from investors, especially in this tight economic climate, to show them the money after the Internet giant bought the video-sharing site for $1.65 billion in 2006 — so far, YouTube’s revenue has not met investors’ expectations. Estimates have YouTube earning $200 million next year, compared with $27 billion for Google.

YouTube has begun experimenting with a number of new ad formats, including InVideo advertising.
