NBC, Google Make TV Ad Pact

googlesucks_small.jpgADOTAS – Google has managed to bust into the TV advertising world. NBC Universal is partnering with Google in a multi-year deal in which Google will sell TV ads through its TV Ads service on certain NBC cable channels.

The deal will cover ad inventory on Sci Fi, Oxygen, MSNBC, CNBC, Sleuth and Chiller – and more networks may be added in the coming months.

This deal is all in the family: The director of Google TV, Michael Stieb, is a former NBC Universal executive. And it’s been hard to come by. Google has been struggling to break into the TV ad world for more than a year, with very little to show for its efforts.

Google isn’t the only online mega-shop hoping to move into TV advertising. Microsoft bought Navic Systems in June in its own bid to make a footprint in the TV ad world.
