Metallica Finally Acknowledges Power of Internet

rockingout2.jpgADOTAS – The notoriously curmudgeonly low-tech metal band – and the most outspoken leaders in the Napster witch hunt – seems to have finally realized that marketing free music from an upcoming online can help, not hinder the album’s prospects for sales.

Metallica’s latest sonic offering, Death Magnetic, (loooove the title!) has been “leaked” online. Lars Ulrich, drummer for the band and one of the most vocal deriders of the much-beloved Napster, reportedly greeted the “leak” by saying, “Happy days. It’s 2008 and it’s part of how it is these days.”

Welcome to the 21st century, Lars.
