sms1.jpgADOTAS – Americans are more comfortable with texting than ever – which is good news for mobile marketers. Nielsen Mobile reports that in the last quarter of 2007, cellphone users text messages more frequently than they made phone calls, an industry first.

This year, subscribers are texting even more – the volume spiked 64%, Nielsen found. (Calls continued to decline slightly).

Teens between the ages of 13 and 17 send or receive 1,742 messages per month, compared to the second-highest age group, 18 to 24 year olds, who send and receive about 790 messages.
