To Engage Mobile Users, Text Them

sms1.jpgADOTAS – Mobile marketers looking for engagement should turn to text messages, according to research from the Direct Marketing Association. About 70% of consumers say they’ve responded to a marketing text message, compared with 41% who’ve responded to a survey and 30% who’ve responded to email offers.

Other key findings:

33% have never responded to mobile marketing.
71% of those who have responded have data plans.
21% of those who’ve responded to mobile marketing messages have responded to three or more offers a month.

Reader Comments.

Don’t text ads to me unless you’re willing to pay me! I pay to send and receive text and MMS messages, I’m not paying my carrier to receive ads from them or anyone else. You didn’t note in your stats whether or not those who HAD responded had only responded to ask to be removed from the list… what are those numbers like?
