Study: Spending on Mobile Messaging To Spike 15% by 2012

sms1.jpgADOTAS – Spending on mobile messaging services by consumers is set to rise 15% to more than $88 billion by 2012, according to a new report from Strategy Analytics.

Last year, consumers spent about $65 billion on mobile messaging.The report contends that SMS messaging will still be tops, but that unlimited data plans with flat rates will prompt consumers to use email and IM on their phones. Email will account for 20% of total consumer spending in the mobile arena by 2012.
