sehablasearch_small.jpg ADOTAS – Americans are increasingly using the Internet for search purposes – taking precious time away from emailing, traditionally online’s strongest draw, according to a new report from the Pew Internet Project.

The study found that almost 50% of Internet users were searching Google or Yahoo daily – while only 39% check news and 30% check the weather. About 60% of users use the Net to email. But in the past six years, search use has blossomed 69% while email use has only grown 15%.

More good news for search-engine advertising: users are typically college-educated people with incomes of at least $50,000 a year.
