Obama’s VP Pick Inauspicious for Net Neutrality
ADOTAS – If the Obama/Biden ticket wins in November, it looks like we could be in for some interesting times ahead online. According to a report on CNET, when it comes to tech issues, Joe Biden generally sides with the FBI, Hollywood and copyright holders. His anti-privacy legislation is also responsible for the creation of PGP.
Among CNET’s findings:
In 2002, Biden sponsored a bill that would “make it a federal felony to trick certain types of devices into playing unauthorized music or executing unapproved computer programs.” It died when Verizon, Microsoft, Apple, eBay and Yahoo fought it.
Soon after, he signed a letter urging the Justice Department to prosecute consumers in peer-to-peer networks.
In 2007, he sponsored an RIAA-backed bill designed to restrict consumers’ ability to record and play back songs from satellite and online radio services.
Biden was one of four U.S. senators invited to celebrate the Digital Millennium Copyright Act hosted by the MPAA, the RIAA and the Business Software Alliance.
This year, Biden proposed a $1 billion program to monitor peer-to-peer networks.

Obama lost my vote when he chose Biden. I still remember the Anita Hill vs Clarence Thomas debate and Biden was a key player who showed little or no respect to Ms. Hill.
If he thinks women have forgotten, he’s wrong. It’s sad that Obama and Michele didn’t see that.
Now, I won’t vote for him and I won’t recommend anyone else vote for him.
“When you control the pipe you should be able to get profit from your investment,” he said, according to TheDailyBackground.com.
Later, McCain said: “I’m all for the government encouraging competition, but I’ve found over time that less government involvement is better.
If you read the news, you’ll see that McCain also opposes Net Neutrality.

At least with Obama & Biden on the ticket, you’ll have a less biased viewpoint on a number of issues.

I’m all for the government encouraging competition, but I’ve found over time that less government involvement is better.
At least with Obama and Biden on the ticket, you’re bound to get a balanced, less biased result on issues such as this.
Is there any doubt that, despite a desire to have a 180 shift from Bush, Obama is NOT the answer and that he and his Democrat cronies are indeed evil and the spawns of hell?
I love Biden but this is a crystal clear sign of how conservative Biden and Obama may really be.
