Study: SMS Top Priority for Mobile Users
ADOTAS – Mobile phones are usually associated with, well, phone calls. Common sense be damned! Most people (73%) name SMS capabilities as their top priority, according to a new survey from Access Systems America in cooperation with Amplitude Research.
And mobile email (63%) and the Internet (61%) are right on text’s tail.
Of those surveyed, a whopping 67% said a camera was their top priority, while 34% named music, 33% named video and a laughable 0.5% named battery life. Only 0.33% prioritized voice activation.
This is all good news for interactive advertisers: as has been widely noted before, avid texters are more open to targeted messages. And as texting, email, video and the Internet become de rigueur on phones, ads will too.
