Iphone ADOTAS – Hold onto your hats folks. There’s trouble in paradise. The much-ballyhooed iPhones are running into some issues: they don’t work so well.

According to reports, there are global problems with Apple Inc.’s iTunes servers, which are preventing the new phones from being fully activated in-store. So what are the throngs clamoring to buy the phone today (and who camped out all night to do so) to do?

Spokespeople for the company told the Associated Press that customers could complete the activation procedure at home – but customers are still running into problems.

And some people with first-gen phones who want to upgrade their software are finding their phones completely unusable.

While I am one of the ones waiting for the servers to allow me to upgrade my device’s OS, I am not sure that problems with the activation server qualifies as “Serious Software Bugs”.

It’s not about software bugs in the iPhone - baloney!
Apple is a victim of its own success with the new iPhone. Their activation servers are not able to cope with the onrush of software upgrades and new activations.

We - myself included - are getting a break from our cell phones and life goes on without it for a few hours….. That’s all!

I’m no genius, but why would they schedule the release of the new SW update for 1st gen phones at the same exact time they are releasing the new phone?

Would seem a fairly simple calculation that there are X million 1st gen phones all set to auto-update through iTunes, the update is Y megabytes, and most people connect them first thing in the morning when they get to their desk…the bandwidth requirement for that alone is daunting.

Then add the tens of thousands or however many were projected (Apple knows exactly how many they delivered to retail outlets) to rush the stores in the morning and need activation.

Would seem that some simple math would lead most to believe that was a recipe for disaster.

How could anyone even want an iPhone? Even the new one has no flash support in its web browser so you cannot view most websites!
