Berggi Unveils Web-to-Mobile Share Tool
ADOTAS – Sending content from the Web to mobile phones just became a snap with Berggi’s ZipClip. ADOTAS took the product for a spin and the sometimes arduous process of sending videos, photos, images, ring tones, graphics, text, thumbnails and more from a site to a phone has been boiled down to a few mouse clicks. The ZipClip has to be downloaded (for free) to the phone and to the computer – it has a plug-in for both Internet Explorer and Firefox. Users can also send images to their friend’s phones.
“We believe ZipClip will revolutionize the way people use their cell phones,” Babur Ozden, Berggi’s CEO, told ADOTAS. “People spend hours online every day, but browsing the Web from your phone is a hassle because of its small screen, bad lighting and the on-the-go mentality of mobile users. ZipClip gives people easy access to fun, entertaining items, which is where the mobile space is headed – entertainment.”
Berggi’s most significant monetization plan for ZipClip involves advertising. “We’re not going to run ads for the first month because we want to build up our user base,” Ozden said. “But ads will most likely begin to crop up in mid-September. Our advertisers are already showing interest.”
The product works on AT&T and Sprint phones (Verizon and T-Mobile don’t allow users to download apps in this country). ZipClip will be available on the iPhone in October.
