Monetizing Lead Generation Exit Traffic
If you’re capturing leads, there are ways to further monetize the information after the consumer has completed your lead form and even much later. I will cover some of the most obvious methods to make more money from the Web traffic and leads you’re already getting.
Pre-populated “Thank You” Pages
Because you have captured a consumer’s contact information and you know what they were interested in, you may want to pre-populate their information into another offer on your Thank You page. In order to get the most conversions possible on your exit traffic, select a complimentary offer for your Thank You pages. If you don’t have offers to place on your page, simply redirect consumers to someone else’s offer or CoRegistration path.
Email Auto-Responders
If your lead capture platform is able to send the consumer auto responder emails, setup a few that confirm the information they submitted, assure that a representative will contact them shortly and offers them additional products and services. Going the extra mile by appending your consumer’s information into the links that ultimately redirect them to another offer allows you to pre-populate those offers with their information and improve conversions even further.
Email Service Providers (ESP)
Take your monetization to the next level by emailing your customers via marketing newsletters. This process requires you to setup or license services which will allow you to send mass emails while remaining CAN-SPAM compliant. If you’re not sure what that is, don’t try sending emails through your own platform, partner up with another Email Service Provider (ESP) in the industry that will manage your mailings for you. Some ESP’s will do a Revenue share with you where they will do all the mailing and pay you a percentage of all the revenue generated. You should at least make 50%. Remember, you have to trust your ESP’s to send you the proper percentage of revenue, so choose wisely and only partner with someone you trust. If you’re not sure where to go, contact a friend in the industry or feel free to reach me at Burstabit Media for a referral. Other ESP platforms allow you to manage and send the ad campaigns to consumers. You keep 100% of the revenue but you must manage your own data and pay a license for using their software platform. However, you must still comply with CAN-SPAM laws.
Exit Pop Chat Bots
If a consumer does not want to fill out your offer and attempts to close their browser window or navigate away, you can utilize a chat bot which pops up as if a sales representative wants to chat with them before they go. These bots are actually little artificially intelligent algorithms that can seem like a real person is chatting with you in the hopes of enticing you back to complete the form. MyOnlineChat (www.myonlinechat.com) is one such company that can provide this technology to your landing pages.
Sell Aged Leads
Just because a lead may be old doesn’t mean it’s worthless. Setup IO’s with your lead buyers that allow you to resell the captured leads to companies in non-competing verticals after certain time period.
Ignoring opportunities to further monetize your data and traffic is like throwing money away. It pays to setup some kind of extra monetization methodology when capturing leads or traffic.
