News Corp. Launches Ad Network for Jet-Setters
ADOTAS – News Corp. has unveiled a global interactive advertising network specifically geared toward rich finance wonks. The network will shill financial ads on sites News Corp. snapped up in its $5.2 billion purchase of Dow Jones & Co. last December.
The network, Worthnet.Fox, will sell ads on Barron’s Online, The Wall Street Journal Online and Marketwatch.com – in addition to sites that aren’t owned by News Corp., the company announced. Worthnet.Fox has been designed to target jet-setting executives.
The new online focus is likely a part of News Corp.’s broader plan to compete online and start making serious money in the online ad world – especially as rivals consolidate their operations. The company’s focus on the niche, but extremely influential, market of global executives sets it apart from its competitors.
