Facebook Funder Thiel #10 in Out’s List of Power Gays
ADOTAS – Peter Thiel has been mum about his sexual orientation since Valleywag outed him in December of last year. But as the blog reports today, his silence hasn’t stopped Out magazine from putting him at #10 on its Power 50 list of gays and lesbians. (To be fair, Anderson Cooper is #3 and his silence on the subject is deafening).
Thiel co-founded PayPal, invested $500,000 in FaceBook and watched the funds grow to their current $1 billion. Right now, he runs the $3 billion hedge fund Clarium Capital Management LLC.
While he may not be an open book when it comes to his personal life, the same can’t be said re: dude’s wallet: Thiel just donated $3.5 million to the Methuselah Foundation, an anti-aging research group, Out reports.
Other Power gays and lesbians of note: software guru Tim Gill (#5), blogosphere kingpin Nick Denton (#22) and Proctor & Gamble honcho Susan Arnold (#47).
Reader Comments.
Anderson Cooper’s silence being deafening is quite audio-visually obvious in the fact that he IS NOT gay: So dude he may be 3 on your power list or fandango on your outed list. But I think all of us got check-mated by him. So dude, can you just leave Mr.Cooper alone??
