Berggi Launches Mobile Ad Platform
ADOTAS – Berggi, a mobile applications provider, has announced the launch of a new mobile platform called Ads@Berggi, that it says will monetize their advertising-driven mobile traffic.
With more than 3 million users and a wide range of applications for phones, including Web downloads, e-mails and videos, the biggest problem Berggi ran into was generating revenue from advertising. Until recently, the company took advantage of third-party ad networks, but “the revenue was laughable,” Babur Ozden, CEO of Berggi, told ADOTAS. “So we decided to develop our own ad platform.”
“There are three pain points in mobile advertising,” Ozden said. “The platforms out there don’t work because there are placement limitations with ads only at the entry and exit of the application, there are opt-in limits with users unable to easily interact with ads and finally, targeting limitations with ads popping up with no relevance for the consumer.”
The Ads@Berggi platform allows ads to be inserted anywhere in the application; ads can interact in several ways with the end user (without forcing them to leave the platform) and by tracking a consumer’s activity on their mobile phone, consumers will get ads they’re interested in and more likely to pay attention to, Ozden explained.
While Berggi’s beta program, launched in January, was a success – the company still plans to focus on providing mobile applications.
“We launched our platform in beta and saw ad revenue skyrocket,” he said. “We are considering making the interface available to other mobile application providers but we don’t want to become the next mobile ad network.”
Berggi is headquartered in Palo Alto with offices in Madrid, Houston, Sofia and Beijing.
