Marvel Appoints EVP in Digital Growth Strategy

gaming1.jpgADOTAS – Marvel Entertainment, Inc. has appointed Ira Rubenstein executive vice president of its newly launched Global Digital Media Group as part of its overall growth strategy. Rubenstein will spearhead Marvel’s digital distribution strategy across all media and platforms; he’ll report to John Turitzin, executive vice president, office of the chief executive.

Rubenstein hails from Sony Corp.’s Sony Pictures Digital, where was executive vice president. At Marvel, he’ll look to extend the reach of Marvel properties online by focusing on Marvel.com, MarvelKids.com, and Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited – as well as through digital video, animated content, mobile games, casual games and strategic partnerships.

“With a world-renowned library of characters to tap into, I am very excited to join Marvel and ultimately develop valuable digital assets that resonate with consumers and beyond. This is a tremendous opportunity and I look forward to extending the reach of these iconic properties across a whole new Marvel universe,” said Rubenstein.

Marvel has a library of more than 5,000 characters built in more than six decades of comic book publishing.
