ADOTAS — Snocap’s lonely days searching for a suitor have finally ended. Music social networking company imeem officially announced its acquisition of Snocap (buzzed about for months) today. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Snocap, a technology company for digital rights and content management, will round out imeem’s offerings with content identification technology, a fresh mix of products and services for the artists and labels who use imeem’s network for marketing purposes and a digital registry.
Ali Aydar, Snocap’s chief operation officer, will join imeem as vice president of operations.
imeem is currently the third largest social network in the U.S. with more than 24 million unique visitors a month. imeem’s network of embeddable audio and video playlist widgets reach over 100 million consumers a month, according to Quantcast.
