Blinkx Adopts Poker Face
ADOTAS – Do you know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em, know when to walk away and know when to run … online? Video search engine blinkx is partnering The Poker Channel to make Europe’s largest library of poker programming accessible at www.blinkx.com, providing ample time for pros and newbies to test out their virtual poker faces.
Blinkx’s AdHoc platform will place contextually relevant interactive advertising against the footage – revenue will be shared with The Poker Channel, but exact financial details were not disclosed.
The Poker channel was created for hardcore poker fans and the occasional player; tournaments, educational videos, footage of pros like Chris “Jesus” Ferguson and “Pokumentaries” are all available.
“We’re delighted to partner with blinkx to make our world-class programming available to international audiences everywhere,” said Chris White, commercial director, Poker Channel Europe. “Blinkx’s unique search technology ensures users can easily access our extensive mix of tournaments, high stakes cash games, news and instructional shows.”
Blinkx has more than 220 partners and 18 hours of indexed video and audio content and it uses advanced speech-recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.
