awardwinner.jpgADOTAS – AOL is going gangbusters these days, reporting a 35% programming boost year-over-year. The company has reported steady growth for the past six months in unique visitors and page views, but it hit an all-time high in March.

Page views are up 28% and unique visitors are up 11% to 56.5 million year-over-year. These findings crown other recently distributed laurels: AOL’s Platform-A is the numero uno advertising network based on unique visitors, according to comScore.

AOL pins the phenomenal growth on a strategic rebranding of its key vertical networks, including Money & Finance, News, Sports, Food, Body, Music and Moviefone. The Body site saw the highest page view growth (760%).

“Our strong growth is a direct result of rebuilding each and every one of our vertical Web sites over the past 12 months with the goal of providing consumers highly relevant and rich experiences that focus on key passion points which in turn provide tremendous value to our advertising partners,” said Bill Wilson, Executive Vice President of AOL Vertical Programming. “The consistent and strong growth in both reach and engagement, along with the newly reorganized Platform-A, gives us a great opportunity moving forward to monetize our increasingly highly engaged audience.”

AOL has launched several sites this year, including Asylum, WalletPop and Spinner. AOL also reportedly acquired fantasy football site FleaFlicker.com as part of its move to enhance AOL Sports.

Despite its growth, AOL still trails in overall traffic behind Yahoo, Google and Microsoft.
