Rubicon Project Makes A Name For Itself
Today the Rubicon Project, a firm which seeks to automate the online advertising industry released data from its private Beta program today. Since launching in Beta in October of 2007, over 3,500 web publishers have signed up to use the service. To date the Rubicon Project has optimized 4 billion online ads across over 50 networks, earning site publishers over $1 million in revenue.
In January alone, the firm was named as an AlwaysOn OnMedia 100 winner, awarded the Favorite Startup in a popular vote at TwiistUp and named as a finalist for PriceWaterhouseCooper’s Entretech Awards.
The company has raised $21 million in funding with a new round led by Mayfield Fund. The company is looking to build-out its infrastructure, fine-tuning its algorithms and expanding the monetization specialist team.
Frank Addante, CEO of the Rubicon Project said “It’s been an amazing couple of months here at the Rubicon Project. When we started the company, we could never have predicted that by January 2008 our Beta product would already be delivering real monetary value to web publishers across the globe. With significant capital in the bank, we are now laser-focused on expanding our team, building out our infrastructure and revolutionizing the way people make money with online advertising. I can’t wait to see where we are in January 2009!”
