Raptr To Preview Today
ADOTAS – Today, the Game Developers Conference is going on in San Francisco and attendees will be getting a preview of Raptr, Dennis Fong’s new startup, reports Techcrunch. Fong is a cofounder of Xfire and an advisor to WeGame. The site is being demonstrated as part of the Charles River/GDC launchpad event this afternoon.
The site has both web service components and desktop software. PC-based games are kept up to date automatically. The article mentions that this site is very similar to Steam, however Raptr will support games, estimated to be at least a thousand, from several developers immediately. Raptr will pull gaming data from users and will also have a social network.
The launch date is not anticipated for months yet.
