Microsoft Acquires YaData

earthtarget1.jpgADOTAS – Microsoft has made an Israeli acquisition in ad-targeting startup company YaData. The firm was purchased for somewhere between $20 million and $30 million reports Cnet News.

The YaData team will be integrated into Microsoft’s existing research and development center in Herzliya, Israel as part of the ad division. YaData’s specialty is behavioral targeting.

Moshe Lichtman, president of the Microsoft Israel R&D Center stated “The purchase of YaData brings the Israeli R&D center into the field of online advertising, which is undoubtedly one of Microsoft’s most strategic fields. This a great example of how Israeli technology has considerable value that is contributing to our most important areas of development.”
