Netflix And LG Put Movies On Your TV

remotecontrol3.jpgIn a move that continues to blur the line between traditional media and online technology, Netflix has announced that it is developing a set-top box with LG Electronics that will allow subscribers to watch movies streamed directly from the Internet to their televisions.

This development is an extension of the Internet movie delivery feature that Netflix offers, which allows users to playback movies and television shows on their PCs. The new offer will be available in the second half of 2008 reports Reuters. The new service will also be part of each price plan Netflix offers as well.

The online video markets have been increasing and with the estimations of large growth companies such as Apple and TiVo have been creating online to television programs. Reed Hastings, Netflix Chief Executive said to Reuters that “Internet to the TV is a huge opportunity. We believe streaming is the way to go.”
