FCC Wireless Spectrum Bidding Booming



The much anticipated FCC wireless spectrum auction began on Thursday and continued into Friday. Thurday closed with a final bid of $2.4 billion and bidding reached up to $3.7 billion for various blocks of spectrum.

The FCC anticipates that the auction could raise in excess of $10 billion. The digital spectrum will be available Feb. 17, 2009 when television moves from analog to all-digital broadcasts.
