Michael Klein Killed In Plane Crash

It has been reported that on Sunday, three people were killed in a plane crash in Panama. The three include investment manager Michael Klein, his 13-year-old daughter, Talia, and the Panamanian pilot. The only survivor was a 12-year-old friend of Klein’s daughter according to MarketWatch, who was taken to a Panama hospital.

The wreckage and the bodies were found on Christmas Day. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined. Klein was 37 and vacationing with the girls at his private island according to reports. He was CEO of investment firm Pacificor LLC and has been the president and CEO of eGroups Inc., an email communication service that was acquired by Yahoo in 2000 for $450 million. This company then turned into Yahoo Groups.

He also founded Transoft Networks which is a supplier of storage-area networking software, and sold it to Hewlett-Packard in 1999.
