Fox Joins My Mom And Builds An Ad Network

building1.jpgIt has been reported that Fox Interactive Media is getting ready to introduce an online advertising network across its websites which include several popular sites such as MySpace, Photobucket and IGN.

Supposedly the network will be ready within the first half of 2008, according to a report in DirectTraffic Media. The network will also include other News Corp. owned sites such as the New York Post.

There is also a possibility that the offerings may be extended to sell space on third-party sites beyond News Corp. properties. Other Fox network sites include AmericanIdol.com, FoxSports.com and Rotten Tomatoes.

It seems as though everyone and their mother is creating an ad network these days, and although the online ad industry is growing rapidly, at some point the market will plateau. It doesn’t seem as though that day is soon, but to be fully dependant on ad revenue could find a lot of people out of a job in the next decade.
