Facebook App Channel, Brought To You By AdBrite
Today, AdBrite announced the Facebook App Channel: the world’s first transparent marketplace for advertising on Facebook applications. With the entire buzz surrounding the social network these days, the plans to monetize the site have been anticipated, and this channel is one in a series of announcements that will allow the site’s new valuation of $15 billion to stick.
In the first few weeks since its launch, the channel has already grown to represent over 100 applications including iLike, Fight Club and Pirates. This strengthens the hold of the third largest ad provider in the U.S.
Philip Kaplan, AdBrite’s co-founder and president of products stated “Facebook’s ecosystem is exploding with innovation and growth. AdBrite has deep expertise in helping independent Web developers monetize their work. Our Facebook App Channel leverages this expertise by allowing advertisers to easily advertise across these properties.”
“As other social networks open up to applications, AdBrite will be there,” said Kaplan. AdBrite currently provides ads to over 70 social networks, including 6 of the 10 largest.
