Secrets Revealed! WPP Buys Schematic
WPP, who has been teasing the media for some time now about whom they will acquire next has finally, let the cat out of the bag.
Schematic, one of the largest independent interactive agencies in the United States will be joining the WPP Digital family and will work closely with GroupM, the media investment management division of WPP.
Trevor Kaufman, CEO of Schematic said in the release, “Working with WPP will allow Schematic to increase its own reach and bring a new dimension to GroupM’s communications planning offering by creating content destinations that will drive brand perception and business performance.”
Schematic launched in 1999, the company specializes in creative, strategic, technology and marketing services to several Fortune 1000 companies including Disney, Panasonic, Coca-Cola, NBC, SanDisk and Turner.
CEO of WPP Digital Mark Read added about the partnership, “..it is our strong belief that brand communication will increasingly look like media channels as our clients look for better ways to distribute their own messaging and content.”
The company is going to be key for GroupM in the development and increase of digital content for media partners and clients.
Rob Norman, CEO of GroupM Interaction stated, “Schematic will substantially increase the range of our interactive and entertainment offering and add a new dimension to our proposition. In addition to advertiser solutions, we expect to work with Schematic on the creation and distribution of original digital programming.”
