EyeWonder Learns German, Acquires Vendi Interactive
This week, EyeWonder Inc. announced that it has acquired vendi interactive, a leading digital interactive advertising firm and vendor of online-streaming-spots based in Cologne, Germany.
This announcement comes at the same time as the expansion of the EyeWonder UK and Ireland offices. The firm had opened a new office in London and doubled the staff in Ireland. Barry Bedford has been named managing director of the UK and Ireland divisions. Before joining the EyeWonder team in 2006, Bedford served as managing director of McConnells Multimedia, the media segment of Ireland’s largest advertising and marketing communication firm, McConnells Advertising.
Vendi Interactive will change its name to EyeWonder and keep its client base which includes various agencies including GroupM. Along with the purchase, vendi interactive’s co-founder Ken Gitzen will continue to be EyeWonder’s managing director for Germany.
John Vincent, CEO of EyeWonder stated “EyeWonder is committed to serving as the technological bridge between the key stakeholders in the global interactive digital advertising arena – including publishers, agencies, brands and media buyers – and their online audiences. Our acquisition of vendi interactive enables us to fortify that role in Europe, where online advertising spend is expected to eclipse $7.5 billion this year.”
Ken Gitzen, managing director for Germany, EyeWonder said, “Our combined offerings will raise the bar for creative capabilities in interactive digital advertising while leading the migration of television online by making it easier than ever for European publishers to fuel monetization of content that leads to incremental growth.”
