Yahoo! Prepares To Wrestle YouTube
Yahoo is determined to give YouTube a run for their money, even though the video sharing site currently has cornered the market. The firm has announced plans to focus on media deals with various content partners with the intention of doing an overhaul of their video site.
Yahoo’s general manager for video, Mike Folgner has been divulging the company plans to intensify their video unit. “One of our strategies is to put video everywhere you are on the internet,” he said.
Continuing, “We’re going to build a much better destination for you to access all this different content.” Yahoo is going to provide more television shows, spot highlights and music videos as part of their game plan.
In recent polls, comScore reported that over 130 million people in the U.S. watch online videos.
Even Sony is joining the competition with its own rebranded version of Grouper, as Crackle. The site is said to support high-quality videos with as ad-friendly approach.
