MSNBC.com Creates Own Vertical Networks

todayshow.jpgMSNBC.com has announced its launch of its very own online vertical ad networks for the politics divisions and TODAYshow.com that will allow small publishers to have access to the content and at the same time increasing the amount of inventory it can sell to the advertisers.

The network will be powered by Publisher’s Vertical Network and help the site monetize on various verticals which it has market knowledge and capabilities. This will help the initial break into ad inventory that is currently shared by major ad networks such as Guerilla Nation and Google AdSense.

President of Seevast, parent company of Pulse 360 which has the PN platform, Mark Josephson was quoted to say, “Big publishers are understanding the opportunity. We have a very robust pipeline. This is a real trend.”

Sites joining into the two new msnbc.com networks stand to increase ad revenue through display ads and sponsored links, increase search engine visibility and gain access to msnbc.com story headlines and video feeds.

VP of advertising for msnbc.com, Kyoo Kim said, “Our users are already using the sites we are targeting. We are trying to follow the natural audience flow. We think we can do it better [than the ad networks]. And we’re sold out on our site.”

Capitalization on fragmentation is becoming the poplar trend among publishers. As they continue to seek this out, more and more vertical ad networks will be born.
